Our local partners are African founded and led organizations with proven track record in their communities that align with the mission of Diaspora RiseUP! and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 1, 4, 5, 7, and 8.
Diaspora RiseUp! fundraises through City Hosts, partnerships, crowdfunding, and a social media campaign to expand our reach to engaged members of the diaspora. The campaign will feature inspiring stories, highlight local creativity, and have various ways for members of the Diaspora get involved.
Eligible organizations are vetted by Act4Accountability to ensure they meet defined standards that include:
• Proof of registration compliance
• Financial transparency
• Healthy internal governance and leadership
• Community supported mission
Allocation of funds raised is published online to ensure transparency.
Eligible local NGO partners are assessed for their regulatory compliance and service delivery capacity. Those selected to receive two-year partnership funding agreements will provide updates, quarterly financial reports, and documentation on the monies spent.
As part of the grant agreement, NGO partners are required to undertake an organizational development project to strengthen their capacity and evaluate their business processes and program efficiencies.
